TGO DX opens an exhibition to commemorate the centenary of the passenger transport company.

On Friday 4th November the exhibition “TGO DX (1922-2022). Cent anys acompanyant-te” was inaugurated at the Casa de Cultura of Olesa de Montserrat. The exhibition, which can be visited until 4 December, takes a look at the history of TGO DX, the present of the company and explains the future challenges that have been set to offer innovative, quality, safe and sustainable mobility.

The inauguration was attended by Carme Pros, CEO of GrupTG DX, Miquel Riera, Mayor of Olesa, Xavier Rota, Councillor for Culture of Olesa, Jordi Martínez, Councillor for Mobility of Olesa and isaac Aymerich, Chief of the Local Police of Olesa.

The exhibition is the concluding event of TGODX’s centenary, which has been celebrated throughout the year with various proceedings and the publication of a book on the company’s history.

Carme Pros highlighted the work of “all the people who have made it possible for the company to have been operating in the region for 100 years, especially all the workers who have believed in the company and have made it grow”. He also made a special mention to Salvador Alapont “the architect of the growth and innovation of TGO DX. A clear reference for me. Thanks to him and his work, TGO DX has become one of the leading mobility companies in the whole territory”.

The event closed with the presentation of diplomas and a centenary book to the winners and finalists of the school illustration competition organised by TGO DX.

A century-old transport company

On Wednesday 18 January 1922, Joaquín Vilá y Marqués and Bruno Blanes i Blanes founded Transportes Generales de Olesa, Sociedad Anónima. That same year, the company began to offer passenger transport services in Olesa de Montserrat and connected the town with the Estación del Norte train station and the famous Puda de Montserrat Spa.

These were the first steps of a modest company that, one hundred years later, has consolidated itself as one of the country’s leading mobility companies thanks to Salvador Alapont, the driving force behind the company’s growth.

Currently, the company is part of GrupTG DX, together with the transport company MasatsTG DX and the travel agency TGTravel DX, and continues to expand within the prestigious brand of DIREXIS, one of the main mobility groups in Catalonia. Discovering the history of TGO DX also means following the growth of Olesa de Montserrat and the evolution of the country’s passenger transport sector.
