- The visit was also attended by Benjamín Cubillo, Deputy Director General of Public Transport and Mobility, and Carles Fàbregas, Managing Director of the DIREXIS group. They were welcomed by Carme Pros, CEO of GrupTG DX.
On Thursday 2 June, TGO DX was visited by Mercè Rius, Director General of Transport and Mobility of the Generalitat de Catalunya; Benjamín Cubillo, Deputy Director General of Public Transport and Mobility, and Carles Fàbregas, Director General of the DIREXIS group, who were received by Carme Pros, CEO of GrupTG DX. The meeting served to discuss issues such as the decarbonisation of mobility being carried out by the company and the digitisation process of the company’s regular lines. At the same time, it also served to make an in situ visit to the extension of the new offices and the new TGO DX facilities that began to be built last January in the industrial estate of La Flora in Olesa de Montserrat. When finished, they will house a new mechanical workshop, a washing area and a large parking area for buses.
A decarbonised fleet and new facilities
One of the great challenges the company has been working on for some time now is the decarbonisation of its fleet, through the electrification of vehicles and its facilities. It is doing so by sharing the path with administrations such as the Generalitat de Catalunya, which has presented the National Strategy for the Decarbonisation of Mobility, a document that contemplates and establishes the actions to be followed by the mobility sector in Catalonia to reduce the emission of particles and pollutant gases into the atmosphere.
It is precisely within the framework of this national strategy that TGO DX has already begun to electrify its fleet, with two electric vehicles linking the Olesa FGC station with Esparreguera. TGO DX, together with MasatsTG DX, have a date marked in red in the calendar: 2028. This will be the year in which the company’s entire decarbonisation process will be completed. TGO DX has not stopped growing and has become a company in constant expansion. This fact, combined with the needs associated with new mobility, has meant that the company is already working on moving to new facilities, which will be fully adapted to operate with an extensive fleet of electrified buses. All this, in order to continue improving the quality of the service offered by TGO DX to its users, but also thinking about the health of the planet and the benefits for future generations.
